THE EVENT

A short introduction

tARTufo is a distributed coliving event in Laconi, organised by Treballu Hub.
Ten people for three weeks in different houses across the historic centre of the village.

For three weeks, Laconi becomes your office.

You can work from the rooms inside an 18th-century palazzo in the centre of the village, the same building that holds the local Museum. Other days you can choose a bench in the park, a corner of the square, a kitchen table.

In the afternoons, anyone can propose something: a workshop, an idea, an activity to do together. That's how the program takes shape.

We will share dinner, cooking together, whoever's cooking decides what we eat and we all help each other.

Bring a proposal, but let it grow here. The best proposals come from Laconi, from the people you will meet, from the group around the table. Something shaped by this place, and that stays after you leave.

The name plays with art, research, and the Laconi truffle the kind you find slowly, underground, with someone who knows the place. tARTufo works the same way.

WHO WE LOOK FOR

People who can work independently, sharing a space and daily life.

Creatives, researchers, makers: anyone who arrives with something to propose and the curiosity to see what happens to it.
HOW TARTUFO WAS BORN

A workshop
around a table,
at Sende

Built around a table, in February.
Run around a table, in July.

For the past two years, when Treballu was not operating, people kept asking us the same thing: can we come and stay with you? Can we do something together? I saw your projects and I would love to join them. Friends, friends of friends, people we'd hosted briefly, people we'd never met. The question came back, in different forms, again and again.

Last February we went to visit our friends in Sende, a rural coliving in the north of Spain, for a week-long event with other rural hubs and creatives.

Among the workshops people proposed during the week, we offered one: let's design Treballu's summer event together. A small group joined us around a table, and in that workshop, tARTufo was born.

We didn't write the program ourselves. We built it with the people who were there. That's why tARTufo doesn't have a fixed program now: it never had one.

During the first days in Laconi, we will sit around a table and design the next three weeks together, exactly the way it was first imagined.

TWO THINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO JOIN

Two events running alongside.

During the summer we run two events in Laconi. While you're here, we'll be working on them and you can join in if you want. Like any other proposal during the three weeks: open, voluntary, on your terms.
ART EXHIBITION - OPENS 1 AUG - 2nd EDITION

Ispéra

Ispera is the art exhibition part of Storie dal Vicolo, our August festival in Laconi. Empty shopfronts, closed houses and courtyards open up as small galleries for a month, one work per space.

If you're interested The setup happens during your last week. We'll be doing it. You can join us. Opening night is 1 August.
FESTIVAL | 21-23 AUG | 6th EDITION

Storie dal Vicolo

Storie dal Vicolo is an independent cultural festival, born in 2021 in the courtyard of the original Treballu house. Music, art, literature and conversations across the alleys, courtyards and public spaces of Laconi.

If you're interested We'll be working on the festival during tARTufo too. Some participants can choose to stay longer in Laconi to be there for it.
A REGULAR DAY

The shape of the day comes from who will shows up

In the morning, all of us works on our own project. The Menhir Museum opens and the rooms there are good for focus. You can choose the Aymerich park or some other space. Coffee is at the bar around the corner.

In the afternoon, we run what we mapped out in the first days: workshops, walks, talks, cooking, whoever proposed something runs it, whoever wants to join, joins.

We will propose our own things too: a picnic out in the park, an aperitivo at sunset, a tartufo dinner with one of the local hunters.

Other things happen too: friends drop by, neighbours invite us in, a plan changes shape.

In the evening, we cook together, we rotate simple tasks, we share the table almost every night.

LACONI

The village
where
it happens.

Laconi is a village of around 1,500 people in the centre of Sardinia, in a region called Sarcidano. About an hour from the coast, far enough from the summer noise to keep its own pace.

The historic centre is small and walkable, stone houses, narrow alleys, courtyards, a few bars that stay open year-round. The Menhir Museum sits inside Palazzo Aymerich at the centre of the village: prehistoric standing stones from across the territory, kept and studied here. Some of our working hours during tARTufo will happen in its rooms.

Behind the village starts the Aymerich park, the largest urban public park in the Island with old trees, walking paths, the ruins of the original Aymerich castle, and a waterfall about ten minutes' walk from Treballu.

Laconi is also tartufo country. The white and black truffle of central Sardinia grows in the woods around the village, and a handful of local tartufai still go out at dawn with their dogs to find them.

July in Laconi is hot during the day and fresh at night. It's a real place with a real life, not a backdrop, not a set. For three weeks, you live here as one more person in the village.

THE HOSTS

The people who'll open the door.

Treballu is run by two people. They live in Laconi, work here every day, know the neighbours by name. For three weeks, they're the ones you'll cook with, talk to, and ask the obvious questions.
Carlo

Carlo was born in Laconi and came back to stay. He founded Treballu and chairs Associazione Culturale Giovani Iddocca. For tARTufo he holds the thread with the village.

Annalisa

Annalisa lives and works in Laconi. With Giovani Iddocca she designs cultural projects rooted in reforestation, agroecology and permaculture. For tARTufo she makes sure things take root.

FAQ

Questions that comes up

Where will I sleep?

In different houses across Laconi. We have a small network of village homes. Most rooms are private. We confirm yours after the application.

Will I have a private room?

Some rooms in the village houses are private, some are shared. When you apply, tell us how you work and how you sleep — we read every application and we do our best to match each person with what they need. A note on private rooms: they're limited, and we assign them in the order applications come in. Earlier applications, better odds.

What is included in the 480€?

Accommodation, coworking, cleaning, all the activities. Travel to Laconi is included.

Do I need to speak Italian?

No. Among the group, we speak English. With the people of Laconi, some Italian helps but you'll find ways to communicate. We're around if you need a hand.

Can I stay for less than three weeks?

Two weeks minimum. The cost stays the same. The group bond depends on you being there for the full three weeks.

Can I bring a partner, a kid, a dog?

A partner: yes, if they apply too. The group is ten and we read every application. Kids: write to us first — we'll figure it out together. Dogs: as much as we love them, Treballu is home to five cats. Better not.

HOW TO TAKE PART

Book your spot

Three weeks in Laconi, in the heart of Sardinia, with nine other people. Two of those weeks are the minimum, three is the right length.
13th July - 3rd August 2026
Laconi, Sardinia
10 spots available
480€

Your contribution

The fee is €480. It covers your accommodation in one of our houses, the coworking, all the activities the group puts together, and the local support around the three weeks.

Meals are separate. We cook together most evenings and split the grocery bill (usually around €7 to €12 a day). Travel to Laconi is on you. We're happy to help you plan it: airports, the bus from Cagliari, who can pick you up.

What we ask you to bring

This is the heart of tARTufo. Whatever you do, bring something to share. A workshop you could lead. A walk you could guide. A talk, a screening, a project that needs other eyes.

It doesn't have to be polished. A title and 3–5 lines is enough. We'll talk it through together along the way.

And a trace to leave behind if you want, a recipe, a guide, a song, a sketch, something the next group of people who come here can use.

How we choose

We curate a balanced group of ten: different practices, different backgrounds, different languages. We don't choose by CV. We choose by your proposal: how it speaks, what it asks of the group, how it could fit with the others.

We read every application. This is the first edition, we're picking the first ten with care.

We'll reply within two weeks
